“Have fun, learn something, and come home safely!” Famous words spoken each day to our Colorado Young Leaders while on service adventures.
This past weekend in Keystone, seven of our young leaders spent an inclusion weekend with five inspiring Adaptive Adventures teens under the guidance and partnership of the Keystone Adaptive Center. The participants lodged, skied, cooked, cleaned, and learned about leadership together. Here are comments from the crew.
What did you learn about leadership this weekend?
“This weekend taught me to advocate for myself if I needed something” (Adaptive Adventures participant).
“I had to become more confident in myself to be able to help someone out. It showed me that I have the skills to be a leader; like communication, forward-thinking, confidence, and humility” (CYL participant).
