U.S. Youth Ambassdors Program Deadline

CYL is excited to partner with WorldDenver and World Learning to announce its 2019 nationwide recruitment of U.S. participants for the State Department’s  Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program and U.S. Youth Ambassadors Program.  These domestic and international exchange programs are wonderful opportunities for youth and adults in Denver!

About the U.S. Youth Ambassadors Program: The U.S. Youth Ambassadors (USYA) Program is a 3-week leadership exchange abroad for U.S. teenagers ages 15-17 and adult mentors. The program provides full scholarships for 120 students andadult mentors to take part in one of five exchange programs to countries in South America and the Caribbean. The program aims to develop a cadre of young adults in the United States who have a strong sense of civic responsibility, a commitment to their communities, an awareness of current and global issues, and strong interpersonal leadership skills. Participants will focus on program themes of civic education, leadership, and community service through the following activities: site meetings, experiential learning activities, leadership trainings, civic participation at the community level, mentoring by community, business, and NGO leaders, and volunteering. Additionally, participants will explore their host country via various subthemes such as social justice, environmental protection, entrepreneurship, multiculturalism, and civic activism. Single and multi-country exchanges available for 2019: Argentina & Chile; Brazil; Dominican Republic; Ecuador; and Paraguay. The U.S. Youth Ambassadors application will be  open until November 14, 2018. For any questions or inquires, email youthambassadors@worldlearning.org.

This program is fully funded (read: FREE FOR PARTICIPANTS) because they are sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State. If you know youth aged 15-17 or adults who would be interested in these opportunities, we encourage you to share the attached information sheets and flyers with them; and distribute across your networks.
