We will spend 3 hours volunteering with The Tipi Raisers to prepare supplies needed for people living on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Volunteer needs include: chopping firewood, organizing donations, helping with horses.
For those of you interested in the summer trip, this is a great opportunity to experience a small part of what the trip might look like and a fun opportunity for families to volunteer together. FREE Service Adventure!
For those interested in the summer trip, we will also be hosting a student/parent orientation over lunch after volunteering, from 1-2:30/3pm. Lunch will be provided. Dave, from The Tipi Raisers, will share the types of volunteer projects you might be doing on the trip, based on what’s needed. We will also talk about the fun adventures we will be doing on the trip! CYL Staff will be there to talk about trip safety and fundraising opportunities prior to the trip to cover a portion of trip fees.
*Directions to service project site from Golden: Take Hwy 93 north 3.2 miles out of Golden towards Boulder. Turn left onto 56th Ave and head west.
