Young Leaders will participate in a week-long camp to learn about Denver’s food cycle. Starting with urban community gardens and following the cycle to seeing the food make its way to tables in Denver, this camp will address the following issues within food justice: food security, distribution, access, insecurities, local and sustainable foods. Students will serve with and learn from at least 5 different local nonprofit organizations working in addressing food justice concerns. Lunch will be provided from local restaurants. This is a great crash course into food justice for Young Leaders who are exploring their CYL causes to students who have great experience in areas of food justice. Commitment is for the full 5 days and will take place in downtown Denver.
