Base Camp

2 Nov 2019 @ 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Each person is born with a superpower. At Base Camp, you will uncover yours and share your story. At CYL, we don’t believe you should wait to create change. All over the world youth are working on impacting change on issues ranging from climate change, social justice movements and more. Base Camp will teach you how to uncover your passions, and you will leave with tools to create your own movement and to empower youth voice.

At Base Camp, a youth-led leadership summit, we invite you to explore unique causes impacting Colorado, learn from non-profit organizations working in those cause areas, and get involved in what you can do to lead in your passion areas. You will be able to explore exhibits in the museum that will spark an interest or inspire you to be a change-maker, including a new exhibit called What’s Your Story? about amplifying your voice. We invite Susan Skog, author of Your Voice Matters: Stand Up, Speak Out to host a workshop on how to amplify your voice and create change. Each high school student who attends will have the opportunity to share their story with other youth.
