CYL is excited to partner with WorldDenver and World Learning to announce its 2019 nationwide recruitment of U.S. participants for the State Department’s Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program. This domestic exchange program is a wonderful opportunity for Young Leaders!

About the Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program (IYLEP): IYLEP is a four week, fully-funded cultural exchange program that takes place in the USA. It is for both Iraqi and U.S. students who demonstrate leadership and civic engagement in their communities. During the program, the 12 U.S. high school students, 27 Iraqi high school students, and 3 Iraqi adult mentors will engage in experiential learning activities and workshops that will further their knowledge of civic engagement, youth lead programs and intercultural communication across the different program components in Vermont for a week, a host city in the U.S. for two weeks, and Washington, D.C. The IYLEP application will close January 15, 2019. For any questions or inquires, email or is an opportunity for local students to travel domestically and participate side-by-side with their Iraqi peers in the youth leadership development curriculum. All expenses are covered.

This program is fully funded (read: FREE FOR PARTICIPANTS) because they are sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State. If you know youth aged 15-17 or adults who would be interested in these opportunities, we encourage you to share the attached information sheets and flyers with them; and distribute across your networks.
