In partnership with Project PAVE, we hosted a guided snowshoe trip at Rocky Mountain National Park for male-identifying students. Not only did we have a blast exploring the outdoors, we had great discussions about toxic and healthy masculinity, utilizing the curriculum from Project PAVE’s True Man program.
The morning started exploring the National Park via snowshoe, a first for many participants! Summit Guide, Gabor, led the young men safely along the trails. The afternoon was spent at the YMCA of the Rockies digging into aspects of masculinity in today’s society. The True Man program was developed in partnership with the Denver Broncos to provide character development for the young men in their Futures Football Program, and helps men and boys express emotions in a healthy way, use assertive communication when in conflict with others, and control aggressive and violent reactions
By working with Project PAVE, CYL is able to provide a unique experience to male-identifying students in CYL. We are able to lean into our expertise and passions, leadership and the outdoors, and provide a unique service to our students and program partners! By working together, we are able
