The Therapeutic Horseback Riding (THR) Program with the National Sports Center for the Disabled needs volunteers to be side-walkers, and horse leads. This means YOU DO NOT have to know how to ride a horse. During the summer, the greatest need for volunteers is their THR program. Minimal training is needed for this volunteer opportunity and the NSCD PROVIDES THE TRAINING which can be done on your first day of volunteering.
Volunteers will depart from a metro-Denver area location at 8:00 a.m. to YMCA, return to metro-Denver drop-off location at 4:30 p.m. Minimum age to volunteer is 14 at time of volunteering. To sign up to volunteer sign up on the NSCD’s Volunteer Information System (Volgistics) as “Therapeutic Horse Riding – WITH Transportation from/to Denver” – you can sign yourself up or the Volunteer Services team at the NSCD would be happy to add you to the schedule (970-726-1546, firstname.lastname@example.org).
