If your child is interested in participating in the Summer 2018 Costa Rica trip with CYL or if you have questions on the meeting logistics, please attend this meeting! CYL has partnered with the service trip experts at Walking Tree Travel to ensure this is an awesome, safe experience for all youth. Luke, from Walking Tree Travel, will be in attendance to answer all of your travel questions!
About the trip
In Costa Rica, we will spend time hiking to beautiful waterfalls, touring a coffee farm and surfing, to name a few awesome adventures! Our volunteer work will include work on Mt. Chirripo (Costa Rica’s tallest mountain) and learn about sustainable agriculture. Costa Rica is a leading country in sustainability so it will be a neat experience to learn from the best! You can find the travel itinerary and information here, from our partner Walking Tree Travel.
As this is a Local to Global trip, CYL is requiring youth find value and needs within their own community before attending the trip. A lot of our local service projects parallel what we will work on in Costa Rica. We encourage high school students to recognize the needs of their own communities. Upon return from Costa Rica, CYL requires more local hours to reflect on what you learned during your time abroad and to take that knowledge into your own community. We believe there are valuable experiences to be learned right here as well as abroad.
